<p>A pulverulent ammonium nitrate explosive, free from liquid nitric esters, having specific gravity >=1.20 g/cm3 and having a power corresponding at least to that of TNT, also contains by wt (a) 1-10 (4-8)% liq. dinitrotoluene, (b) 5-40 (19-20)% alkali or alkaline-earth nitrates, (c) 1-22 (4-9)% sensitisers, and (d) 0.1-0.8 (0.3-0.6)% hydrophobic agents which may be replaced in whole or in part by water-soluble swelling agents in quantities up to 7.(0.8-2.5)%.</p> |
