The fibres are formed from a group of continuous glass filaments cut off to length and given a kinetic energy by being projected with a given velocity towards a collecting surface, which limits the total wt. applied thereon automatically, the fibres being dispersed over the area of the collecting surface to obtain an regular distribution ensuring a fine mat porosity. - They are used acoustically and for electrical insulation.
