<p>A window stay has a pair of mounting plates, one for mounting to a window frame and the other to a window sash. The mounting plates are coupled together by a pair of arms. Both arms are pivotally connected to the sash mounting plate. A shorter one of the arms is pivotally connected to the frame mounting plate and the longer one of the arms is pivotally connected to a third arm. The longer arm or the third arm is pivotally connected to the frame mounting plate; the other of the arms is connected to the frame mounting plate for sliding movement substantially longitudinally of the frame mounting plate.</p> |
