PURPOSE:To prevent sections from damages due to grip, slide and drop by carrying out all operations of receiving the sections in a skid arm, transferring them to a temporary support mechanism and loading them on a pallet only by scooping up the section from below. CONSTITUTION:A skid arm 4 receives a section W carried by a conveyer 2 in the ascending process, while a spacer pocket 12 receives a spacer 16 so that the spacer 16 is inserted in the underside of the section W. Next, when the arm 4 is advanced to transfer the section W above a pallet bed 17, both ends of the spacer 16 received in this pocket 12 are opposed to a carrier plate 19 of a support lever 18 in a temporary support mechanism 7 attached to the pallet bed 17. Thereafter, the arm 4 is lowered to temporarily support the section W on the support lever 18 through the spacer 16. Finally, the arm 4 is retreated to lift the pallet 17 and the carrier plate 19 is retreated to the outside after the carrier plate 19 is transferred to the pallet side. |
