PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity to a radiation in the region of wavelength of about 200 to 550 nm, and esp. to enable Ar laser beams to be utilized, by using a photoplymerization initiator comprising a specified merocyanine dye and a specified triazine compound in combination. CONSTITUTION:An addition-polymerizable compound having ethylenically unsaturated double bonds, such as pentaerythritol trimethacrylate, and a merocyanine dye of formulae I, II, and III (X is H, alkyl, alkoxy, aryl, aryloxy, aralkyl, or halogen and R<1> and R<2> are alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, or aralkyl), and a 2,4,6-substituted- 1,3,5-triazine of formula IV (R<4>, R<5>, and R<6> are alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl, but one of them, or more are mono-, di-, or tri-halogeno-substituted methyl) are combined to form a photopolymerization initiator, and this initiator is dissolved in a proper solvent together with an organic high polymer compatible with the initiator and capable of film forming. In formulae I to IV, all of alkyl and aryl groups may be substituted. |
