PURPOSE:To contrive shortening of a printing period of time and to prevent deterioration of a printing quality, by a method wherein the printing is performed by changing over a mode between a bidirectional printing mode and a monodirectional printing mode by selecting them according to a shape of a letter to be printed. CONSTITUTION:In case that a pattern of a letter is the one (the pattern of the letter in a single zone) wherein printing of a letter row printing treatment of which is to be performed is completed by one moving action of a printing head, high speed printing treatment is performed by shortening a printing period of time by setting up bidirectional printing mode to a printer 14 irrespective of instruction contents of a printing direction control flag 90. Then in relation to the expanded or deformed letter divided into a plurality of zones, when high speed printing is desired without attaching importance to a quality of the printing, the printing direction control flag 90 is set up and when elimination of a deterioration in the printing quality resulting from deviation of pattern among zones is desired, monodirectional printing mode is designated by resetting the printing direction control flag 90. |
