PURPOSE:To form a synthetic image such as a multicolor image, by providing a plurality of recording heads and applying alternating voltage to the respective drive electrodes of said recording heads from a common alternating voltage power source. CONSTITUTION:Each of recording head 1a, 1b has 32 drive electrodes and 105 signal electrodes and AC voltage is applied to 32 drive electrodes while successively changed over at about every 20musec. A recording medium 2 is formed into a drum shape and an image is formed while said recording medium 2 is rotated to the direction shown by the arrow. The electrostatic image formed to the recording medium 2 by the recording head 1a is developed by toner on the basis of the control driving when opposed to a developing device 13a. The electrostatic image formed by the recording head 1b is developed by the toner of a developing device 13b. Therefore, the toner image is formed as a synthetic image wherein two images are superposed. The synthetic image on the recording medium 2 is transferred to transfer paper 16 under pressure by a press roller 15 and simultaneously fixed to obtain a hard copy. The residual toner is cleaned by a cleaning apparatus 17. |
