PURPOSE:To enable a pallet to be transferred by a stroke larger than a chain width, by transferring the pallet through a chain by an engaging means of roller hook with an engaging groove further thereafter connecting the pallet with an auxiliary moving means to be transferred by the chain width through the engaging means. CONSTITUTION:If a roller hook 26a reaches a position Y by rotating a sprocket 21, a pallet transfer device, moving in a direction N also a roller hook 25a to reach a position X and to be opposed to an engaging groove 16a further turning the sprocket 21 in a direction M, engages the hook 25a with the engaging groove 16a tractively pulling in a direction E a shuttle 16, and if the shuttle 16 moves along a rail 15a, 13a, the transfer device, restarting the movement in a direction E also of a pallet 7 and further transferring it by a distance L2 till the hook 25a reaches a position Z in a sprocket 22, transfers the pallet to the side of a vertical lathe 1 by a distance L1 from the position Z where the engagement is released. In this way, the pallet 7 can be transferred by a stroke larger than an extension distance of the medium node of chain winding. |
