摘要 PURPOSE:To enable remote control and photoelectric switch operation at a larger distance by increasing the intensity of axial radiation of the LED used for the light emission source of a remote control transmitter or a photoelectric switch by a method wherein the refractive index of the casting resin layer is made larger than that of the encapsulated resin layer. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a LED chip 3 is covered with a semi-spherical transparent encap resin layer 6 made of e.g. silicon resin (refractive index 1.5), and epoxy resin (refractive index 1.55) is used for the casting resin layer 5. In formation of the encapsulated resin layer 6, resin is dripped by using e.g. an injector/ thus, this layer 6 of lens form is deposited by the surface tension of the resin itself. This enables the light emitted out of the chip 3 to be collected first to the encapsulated layer 6, therefore the light concentrates in the axial direction and leads to the improvement in intensity of axial radiation. As a result, it is possible to transmit light much farther.
