The drilling device essentially consists of a guide column (2) and a drilling tool displaceably mounted on the guide column (2) and arranged in a housing (3). The drilling tool has a drilling spindle (9), mounted in the housing (3), gearing and a motor (6). The motor (6) is arranged inclined relative to the drilling spindle (9) so that an additional gear transmission step between the pinion (6a) of the motor (6) and an intermediate shaft (7) can be dispensed with. The angle ( alpha ) of inclination between the axis of the drilling spindle (9) and that of the motor (6) is about 15 DEG . <IMAGE>
