<p>The main building structures are of reinforced cast concrete esp. densified and integral with the concrete members/walls are shielding shell sections of cast iron and/or cast steel which are suppressed in the concrete (so called lost cladding). These cast iron/steel sections are either flat panels or partly open cubical cells and are assembled to form continuous shielding. They may have channels or the like for coolant circulation cast into them. Simpler and cheaper than applying shielding after curing or hardening of the concrete.</p> |
