Device on sliding microtomes for the vertical guidance of the object holder (object clamp). For setting the cutting thickness, it is usual in the case of sliding microtomes to displace the object clamp vertically by means of a micrometer screw. Frictionless securement and guidance of the object clamp is provided with the aid of leaf springs. In order to keep the force of the contact pressure on the micrometer screw constant over the range of travel of the object clamp, an additional spring is provided, by means of which a counterforce, dependent on the travel and on the deflection of the leaf springs, is transferred to the object clamp. <IMAGE>
