A carburettor fuel, in particular lead-free carburettor fuel, containing methanol is characterised by a content of trioxane and, if appropriate, a content of ferrocene and/or manganocene. Use of an additive mixture for lead-free carburettor fuel consisting of a mixture of the components methanol and trioxane and, if appropriate, also ferrocene and/or manganocene. Use of trioxane for reducing the water sensitivity of methanol-containing carburettor fuel.
