A weir 23 regulates the flow of straws to a bottom lip 22 over which they are pushed into passage 31, the bottom straw of the single column of straws in the passage being held in a pocket 30 of a discharge gate pivotable by electromagnetic actuator 17 to allow the straw to fall from the pocket down a vending chute 16. The gate has stops 34, 35 sealing off passage 31, a cam 33 separating and pushing back the next but one straw on dispensing, fingers 29 passing through ramp openings 28 to jiggle the straws and an abutment 27 engaging and flexing the ramp 14 abut its fixed end 24 to facilitate flow of straws.</p> |
