The invention relates to an apparatus for the production of flanged tubes from starting tubes, preferably hardened on the inside, consisting, for example, of concentrically arranged tubes of differing hardness, the tube body of the flanged tube being cut off from a starting tube and provided with pushed-on annular flanges which are aligned flush with the end faces of the tube body and are welded on their rear side to the outer surface of the tube by a fillet weld. According to the invention, the apparatus consists of a lathe with a headstock which has a face plate against which one end face of the tube body and of the annular flange assigned to the latter can be brought to rest and with a tailstock, the spindle of which has a further face plate against which the other end face of the tube body and the annular flange assigned to the latter can be brought to rest, a respective flange holder assigned to each face plate being provided, the said flange holder being provided with pressure rollers which roll on the rear side of the flange during the welding operation, and there furthermore being provided a circular chain saw with a (lacuna) of a plurality of roller blocks which, as longitudinal slides, can be moved between the flange holders and, as pivot bearings, support the tube body - clamped at one end to the headstock - during the sawing cut.
