PURPOSE:To prevent printing speed from being lowered, by a method wherein a paper feed starting signal is previously outputted, and a printing paper is stopped only when conversion of a one-page amount of printing data into dot patterns is not completed before the paper comes to the position of a sensor, and printing is restarted after the conversion is completed. CONSTITUTION:While a printing controller 2 is outputting a laser driving signal CVD-N, a paper feed starting signal CPP-N for printing the next page is outputted, and the printing paper is fed. Next, after completion of printing, a micro- processor 4 converts the printing data stored in a page buffer 3 into dot patterns, and loads the patterns into a memory 5. After a predetermined lapse of time from the outputting of the signal CPP-N, the micro-processor 4 checks whether or not the conversion into the dot patterns is completed, and when the conversion is not yet completed, the micro-processor 4 outputs a paper-stopping signal WAIT-N, thereby stopping the printing paper where it is. When the conversion is completed, the signal WAIT-N is turned OFF to feed the paper, and printing a started, whereby the printing speed is prevented from being lowered. |
