PURPOSE:To provide good-quality transfer recorded pictures even for recording mediums with surfaces of bad smoothness by using a thermal transfer material obtained by laminating a heat-meltable layer, a liquid ink layer and a thermoplastic resin layer in order on a supporter. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer material 1, formed by laminating a heat- meltable layer 4, a liquid ink layer 3 and a thermoplastic resin layer 5 in order on a supporter 2, is lapped on a recording medium (e.g., usual paper, etc.) so that the resin layer 5 of the material 1 is faced to the face to be recorded of the medium 6. A thermal head 7 is provided on a position facing a supporter for the platen 8, etc. provided to support the opposite side of the recording face of the medium 6, by which a heat corresponding to a recording pattern is given to them. Whereupon, in the material 1, heat is conducted through the supporter 2 and the layer 4 to the ink layer 3 and then to the resin layer 5. The resin layer 5 is then softened or melted and an opening corresponding to the heat pattern is formed in the layer 5. Liquid ink is then flowed out of the opening onto the medium 6 by pressing from the thermal head 7, and an ink picture 3a corresponding to recording pattern is formed on the recording medium 6. |
