发明名称 VARIABLE INDEX FINGER ASSEMBLY
摘要
1292738 Temporarily stopping articles on endless conveyers AMF Inc 2 June 1970 [2 June 1969] 26479/70 Heading B8A Articles (not shown) to be packaged by a machine 20 are fed in succession by conveyers 12, 14 and 18, and are controlled on the conveyer 14 by an assemblage of index fingers 42. The assemblage is movable between a position (full-lines) in which it blocks the movement of conveyed articles, and a retracted position (dotted lines) and is movable in a direction parallel to the direction of conveyance. The fingers 42 are mounted on transversely extending rods 134, 136 (Fig. 4). These are mounted on a pair of carriages 130, 132 (132 only, visible in Fig. 4). The latter are slidably mounted on respective rods 118, 124 by the action of links 170, 172 connected to respective threaded members 182, 194. By rotating manually a handle (272, Fig. 2, not shown) on a rod 216 connected by bevel gearing to threaded rods 184, 196, the threaded members 182, 194, are longitudinally displaced. This results in longitudinal displacement of the fingers 42. Rotation of a cam 142 acts on a follower 152 and via linkage 158 and crank arms 160, 162, and 164, to raise and lower members 43 and 44 (44 only, visible in Fig. 4). The rods 118, 124 on which the fingers are mounted are themselves mounted on the members 43 and 44. Thus by rotating the handle (222), the fingers 42 may be raised and lowered relative to the conveying surface. The conveyer consists of laterally spaced resilient endless load-carrying members 26 each mounted between longitudinally-spaced rollers 28. There may be a second series of fingers 42 which may be raised and lowered but have no longitudinal movement.
