PURPOSE:To facilitate paper feeding by operating a loading board depressing member being interlocked with a cover body opening operation through gears to depress said loading board, while fixing said cover body in an opened position by means of a ratchet mechanism. CONSTITUTION:When a cover board 12 is swung in an opening direction, gears 19, 21, 22 are meshed and rotate in order via the rotation of a shaft 14. Thereby, the end of a depressing board 16 is turned downward via the rotation of a rotatably supported shaft 18, causing a depressing arm 15 to depress a loading board 7 downward, to creat a gap for containing sheets of paper between the loading board 7 and a paper feeding roller 3. At the same time, a ratchet wheel 23 which is formed in an integrated form with the gear 21, rotates sliding over a ratchet rack 25. Since the ratchet wheel 23 is engaged with ratchet teeth 25 in the cover board 12 closing direction, however, the cover board 12 never falls in the closing direction even if it is released. The cover 12 can be closed by manually releasing the engagement between the ratchet rack 25 and the ratchet wheel 23. Thereby, feeding can be facilitated. |
