PURPOSE:To ensure the stable feed of ink and lessen the ink residual amount impossible to be used, by a method wherein the ink reservoir is composed of an ink receiving bag, an ink conduction component, a residual amount detection means, the flat plate fixed to one surface of ink receiving bag and a box having rigidity. CONSTITUTION:An ink reservoir 10 is composed of the ink receiving bag sealed structure which consists of flexible membranes 12A, 12B and stores ink in its inside, the ink conduction part 13 conducting the ink in ink receiving bag 12 to the outside, the residual amount detection means 14 detecting the residual amount of ink with the reflection type optical detector 34 detecting the deformation and/or displacement of flexible membranes 12A, 12B of ink receiving bag, the flat plate 16 fixed to one surface of the ink receiving bag 12 through which the optical beam of reflection type optical detector passes and the box 11 having rigidity. Because the ink receiving bag 12 is put between the flat plate component 16 and the partition plate 11B of box 11 and fixed thereto, it is not moved by external force and as ink is consumed, the flexible membrane 12A sinks and becomes flat without abnormal deformation. |
