PURPOSE:To automatically erase the trace of recording on an ink ribbon by providing an ink cleaner to be touched by the ink face of an ink ribbon between a printing section and a winding roller and also providing a heating element on the opposite side of the cleaner. CONSTITUTION:An eraser 10 consists of a cylindrical heater 11 whose axial length is longer slightly than the width of an ink ribbon 1 and a bar-like erasing brush 12 whose axial length is nearly equal to the heater 11. The heater 11 is set crossingly to the longitudinal direction of the ink ribbon 1 between a printing section 3 and a winding roller 4 and is touched by the downside of the ribbon 1. The bursh 12 is likewise set crossingly to the longitudinal direction of the ribbon 1 and is pushed to the heater 11 by a proper pressure from the upside of the ribbon 1. A heater 13 is also provided in the heater 11. The heater 11 is electrically energized to melt ink coated on the ribbon 1. The brush 12 is rotationally driven in an interlocking manner with the movement of the ribbon 1. |
