<p>PURPOSE:To increase the degree of purification, to make the purification capacity large and to prevent the shape of molded bodies of synthesized mordenite from being destroyed or deformed by passing the acid gas of raw material through a tower packed with the molded bodies of synthesized mordenite. CONSTITUTION:The raw material consisting of a silica source, an alumina source and an alkali source is mixed so that SiO2/Al2O3 reaches >=15. The molded bodies of synthesized mordenite are obtained by molding and calcining the mixture and thereafter heating it in water or an aq. alkali soln. to crystallize it. The molded bodies are heated at >=300 deg.C in the inert atmosphere or vacuum, activated and packed into a purification tower. Thereafter the acid gas of raw material is passed through the purification tower and purified.</p> |
