PURPOSE:To produce a significant magneto-optical effect and to attain a high S-N ratio in reproduction by alternately laminating three or more vertically magnetizable films of a magnetic alloy each having the prescribed thickness and intermediate films of a prescribed material each having a prescribed thickness. CONSTITUTION:Amorphous films 1 each having <=50Angstrom thickness and intermediate films 2 each having <=10Angstrom thickness are alternately laminated so as to regulate the total thickness to <=1,000Angstrom . The amorphous films 1 are made of an alloy giving easily the vertically magnetizable film such as Tb23Fe75, and the intermediate films 2 are made of a metal such as Al, Fe or Co or a compound such as AlN. A significant magneto-optical effect is produced, and a high S-N ratio in reproduction is attained. |
