PURPOSE:To obtain a high output under a sufficient bias magnetic field and to stabilize characteristics even if the height of each composition element changes by disposing a conductive member and hard magnetic one opposite a magnetic resistance effect MR element through an insulating material. CONSTITUTION:A thin film 3 made of hard magnetic material is faced and arranged on a basic material 10 made of non-magnetic material through an insulating film 7 at the height of the same as an MR element 1. A conductive film 2 is faced and disposed on the element 1 at the height the same as the element 1 through an insulating film 11. When the residual flux density and a current value flowed in the film 2 are appropriately selected, the vertical asymmetry of a reproduction waveform at the time of changing said current under a constant residual flux density of the film 3 will not change with respect to the height. |
