Process comprises passing the residues from treatment of phosphorite with sulphuric acid directly from a mill-pump in which rapid washing and trituration of foreign bodies is produced, through a fall-pipe and filter to a pair of decantation ponds. The fall-pipe has a stop-cock to control the quantity passing to the ponds, which are equipped with weirs to control the outlet of dirty wash waters. The hopper in which the prod. is mixed with water before passing to the mill-pump contains a water feed device.
