The centrifugal cleaner separates paper fibres from light trash of similar and lower SG, and comprises an internally conical vessel having a lateral inlet port near its larger end. The open apex is surrounded by a chamber having a first outlet port in its wall,, i.e. for accept fibres, access to the chamber from the vessel being via an annular gap surrounding a coaxial pipe providing a second outlet port, i.e. for reject trash.
