To pressure-sensitive recording material for developing a coloured copy by reaction of an electron donor colour former with an electron acceptor colour developer, the colour developer contains a mixt. of a metal salt (I) of an aromatic carboxylic acid and a sterically hindered phenol (II). - (I) is derived from an acid with a OH gp. in the ortho- or para-position to the COOH gp., pref. a salicyclic acid deriv. with alkyl, aryl and/or aralkyl substit(s). in the orth-ortho- and/or para-position to the OH gp. and with at least 8C atoms in the substit(s). Mg, Al, Ca, Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, K, Ge, Sr, Y, Zr, Mo, Cd, In, An, Sb and Ba salts are pref. (II) is a phenol with an alkyl (t-butyl) substit. in the 2 and/or 6 position(s) or a deriv. of this. The mixt. of (I) and (II) pref. contains 5-60 (10-50) wt.% (II).
