Immuno-modulating bacterial lysates

Immunomodulatory compsns. contain lysis prods. (or fractions of such prods.) obtained by lysis of bacterial cells with a bacteriophage. Pref. the compsns. may contain lysates from two or more different bacteria. Suitable bacteria include E. coli, Street. faecalis, K. pneumoniae and Staph. aureus. - A culture medium is inoculated with a bacteria and a homologous phage is introduced during the growth phase. After lysis, the unlysed cells are removed and the lysate is recovered. This procedure may be repeated using two or more different bacteria is succession.
