Flavanones of formula (Ia) are new. R'1 = R'2 = MeO; or at least one of R'1 and R'2 is thiomethyl or NR4R4'' (sic); R3 and R4 = H or 1-4C alkyl. In specifically claimed cpds. R'1 = R'2 = MeO or R'1 = H and R'2 = MeO, MeS or NH2. - Pharmaceutical compsn. having mucoregulating, choleretic and hypolipaemia-producing activity contains as active ingredient a cpd. of formula (I) or its acid addn. salt or quat. ammonium salt. R1 and R2 = H, OH, OMe, SMe or NR3R4.
