The present invention relates to new derivatives selected from the group consisting of: (i) 1-[N-( alpha -alkylamino- alpha -methylacetyl)aminophenyl]-2-alkylaminopropanones of the general formula: (I) in which R represents a C1-C4 alkyl group and R' represents H or a C1-C4 alkyl group; and (ii) addition salts thereof. These new derivatives are useful as CNS-active substances, in particular as stimulants and antidepressants. The invention also relates to the method for their preparation.
