New di, tri- or tetra-glycidyloxy diaryl diketones are of the formula (I) and new diaryl diketones are of the formula (II): where Glyc = a glycidyl gp. of the formula (III). X = H, 1-6C alkyl, Glyc or 1-6C alkoxy; Y = H or 1-6 alkyl; R = a direct bond, -CmH2m-, -CnH2n-2-, -CnH2n-4-, a divalent, opt. unsatd. cycloaliphatic gp. with max. 14C, a divalent 6-12C aromatic gp. or a bis-phenyl gp. of the formula -C6H4-T-C6H4-3. m = 1-12; n = 2-12; T = a direct bond, methylene, isopropylidene, O, S, NH, CO or SO2; X' = H, 1-6C alkyl, OH or 1-6C alkoxy; Z = H or 1-6C alkyl.
