The continuous conveyor, particularly for eggs, comprises an endless chain consisting of spaced transverse rods with hooks (2,3) at either end each engaging an adjoining rod, the adjoining rods defining supports for transverse rows of eggs. The chain is driven by pairs of toothed wheels arranged on transverse shafts and engaging between successive rods. - Similar toothed wheel pairs (16,17) on shafts (15,14) at the start and the end of a curve in the horizontal transport plane mesh with the rods and means are provided to synchronise rotation of these shafts (15,14) e.g. via chain wheels (19,20) at one end of each shaft coupled via an endless chain (18), preferably on the outside (12) of the curve. This chain (18) may be driven by a separate motor, or the drive may be provided by the pull of the transport chain (21) in the straight downstream section.
