A moulding compsn. comprises 35-65 (wt)% aromatic polyester and 1-60 (35-55)% of a talc contg. a min. amt. of matter decomposable at high temps. - Pref. the polyester is an oxybenzoyl polyester and the compsn. also contains 2-20 (5-15) wt% rutile TiO2. The talc pref. shows a weight loss of not more than 6% when roasted at 950 deg. C and its Fe content (analysed for Fe oxide) is not more than 1%; prefd. are high purity talc, highly refined talc, calcined talc and acid-treated talc. - Moulded cooking utensils made of the compsn. are claimed. Also claimed is the prepn. of foodstuffs in a permanent cooking container made of the compsn. and which can be used repeatedly, the foodstuff in the container being heated to a temp. suitable for serving. - The cooking utensils can be heated in a thermal- or microwave oven. They have good electrical and mechanical props. (e.g. hardness, impact strength, tensile strength and flexural strength), can pass from extreme cold conditions to high temps. in a short time and are resistant to boiling water, acids in foodstuffs, fats and detergents.
