PURPOSE:To make a maintenance and inspection works easier by providing a guide frame movably vertically for a housing and by engaging a roll journal box movably in the axial core direction for the guide frame, etc. CONSTITUTION:Guide frames 6, 7 are provided movably vertically for housings 4, 5 and journal boxes 2, 3 are movable in the axial core direction by engaging with the grooves 9, 10 of guide frames 6, 7. A shifting cylinder 12 is also provided on a connecting frame 11 and a roll 1 is shifted in the axial core direction with the motion thereof. A bending cylinder 13 is also arranged respectively on the guide frames 6, 7. With said mechanism a roll exchanging work is easily performed with the motion of the shifting cylinder 12 after removing an engaging member 8 from the frame 7. Due to the shifting device, journal boxes 2, 3 and roll 1 being pulled out as a one body, the maintenance and inspection works are made easy. |
