PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance of Al by chemically forming an oxide film on the surface of the Al and treating the film with a coupling agent. CONSTITUTION:The surface of Al or an Al alloy is pretreated, and an oxide film is chemically formed on th surface. The oxide film is then treated with a coupling agent such as a silane, titanate or aluminate coupling agent to give a water repelling effect. Thus, the corrosion resistance of said Al or Al alloy is improved. |
