PURPOSE:To stabilize taking up of sheet bar by providing a coil box in entrance side of a finishing rolling mill and providing a shear that cuts the sheet bar in entrance side of the coil box. CONSTITUTION:A drum shear 2, a coil box 3 and a scale breaker 4 are provided successively along a pass line between a finishing rolling mill 5 and a roughing mill 1. The fish tail at the tip of the sheet bar (s) came out from the roughing mill 1 is cut off by the shear 2 before entering the coil box 3. Then, the sheet bar (s) is taken up by the coil box to form a coil 6 and led to the finishing rolling mill 5. By this method, the sheet bar (s) is taken up exactly by the coil box 3 irrespective of the size of the fish tail even when the width rolling reduction of the roughing mill increases. Accordingly, the taking-up of the coil is performed stably. |
