PURPOSE:To obtain a multicolor image of a good color balance by detecting a density of each toner image formed on an image carrier, and controlling a transfer rate of the toner image so that an equivalent achromatic color density is obtained based on its result. CONSTITUTION:This device is constituted of a transfer drum 5, a transfer charger 6, a destaticizing charger 7, a cleaning device 8, and a destaticizer 9, etc. In this state, a photosensitive body is exposed through a green filter 3G brought into an optical path instead of a blue filter 3B, by which a formed latent image is converted to a toner image by a magenta toner MT of a magenta developing device 4M and transferred to the drum 5. Subsequently, the photosensitive body is exposed by a light from an original which passes through a red filter 3R, its latent image is developed by a cyan toner CT of a cyan developing device 4C, and it is transferred to the drum 5. In this way, three multicolor images consisting of three kinds of toners are formed on the drum 5, and this image is transferred to a transfer material 11 by an operation of the second transfer charger 10, and fixed onto the transfer material 11, when the transfer material separated from the drum 5 passes through a fixing device. |
