PURPOSE:To obtain a fitting member high in rigidity by simple work, by molding a surface material into a hollow three-dimensional skin body, injecting a hard foamable resin into the skin body through an opening at the end surface thereof, placing the body into a mold and allowing the resin to foam and set to be integrated with the body. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic resin such as PVC is loaded into molds C1, C2 to be molded into a hollow three-dimensional skin material 1. In the case where the skin material 1 is used for a door arm rest, it is recommendable to form openings 1a, 1a... at an end surface thereof that will abut against a door panel. With the skin material 1 left in the molds, a hard foamable resin 2' is injected via the openings 1a, 1a... into the skin material 1 and is allowed to foam and set. Since the foamed resin layer 2 has a hardness of 100 deg. or more measured by a C-type hardness tester, the produced item can retain its shape without inserting a core, and has enough rigidity and hardness. |
