PURPOSE:To make it possible to produce a mold very inexpensively within a quite short period of time, by using as a mold for vacuum forming a mold obtained by shearing and machining a plastic plate or steel plate by a lazer. CONSTITUTION:A mold obtained by shearing and machining a commercially available plastic plate or steel plate is used to vacuum mold a thermoplastic resin film or sheet. As the plastic plate is most suitably used an acrylate type plate, a polyacetal type plate, or a polyamide type plate in view of the lazer machining property and releasability after vacuum forming. Though the thickness of the plastic plate or steel plate used can be selected arbitrarily according to the draw depth at the time of vacuum forming, it is preferable to use one having a thickness of 1-15mm. in view of the ability to be shorn or machined by a lazer. If a draw depth of 15mm. or more is required at the time of vacuum forming, a mold is used that is prepared by putting several plates having a thickness of 15mm. or less together according to the depth. |
