摘要 PURPOSE:To detect a terminal position and shape automatically and to generate a corresponding controlling signal by providing an image sensor in front of a welding torch and photographing a shadow image caused by the welding torch making the light of welding arc a light source. CONSTITUTION:A shadow image 1a caused by a welding torch 2 photographed by an image sensor 1 is transmitted to a Smith scope 21 and the image is formed in the CCD image sensor 22 of a photoelectric convertor 20. Electric signals are shaped by a two-dimensional equivalent shaping device 23 and sent to a high-speed picture processing circuit 24, and a binary coded matrix table is prepared. The table is sent to a comparison arithmetic processing circuit 25, and compared with a terminal pattern table and the terminal position and shape pattern are discriminated. Further, corresponding controlling pattern shifting values registered in a controlling pattern ROM 26 are retrieved by the circuit 25 and sent to a control value signal output circuit 27. The circuit 27 sends it to a controlling circuit 28 of a shifting motor as a controlling signal, and controls an oscillating motor 6, a reciprocation driving motor 7, a target angle oscillating motor 11 at proper timing.
