PURPOSE:To enable reproduction of an image superior in stability with the lapse of long time by incorporating a compd. represented by a specified formula in a photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive material contains a basic precursor represented by the formula in which X, Y, Z are substituents, B is a monoacidic or diacidic base having a pKa of >=7, and >=12C, and n, m are each 1 or 2. It has the structural feature that the carbon atom adjacent to its carboxylic group has electron attractivity and facilitates decarboxylation, but it is extremely stable at normal temp., and it is decarboxylated by heating to release the basic component, thus permitting both requirements of stability in storage at normal temp. and rapid decomposability at the time of development processing essential as the basic precursor to be satisfied.
