PURPOSE:To improve the reliability by alternately connecting in series many propulsion coils shorter than the length of moving elements arranged along rails to construct a plurality of groups of linear motors. CONSTITUTION:3-Phase propulsion coils C1-Cm+1 are arranged along rails, odd and even numbers of coils are connected in series in every phase to construct linear motor units LMX, LMY of the first and second groups. Powers are supplied to the units LMX1-LMX4 through power feed switches SX1-SX4 by power converters PCAX, PCBX, and to units LMY1-LMY4 through power feed switches SY1-SY4 by power converters PCAY, PCBY. With the construction, even if one group of power converter become defective, the other group of the linear motor is connected to run. |
