ORGANIC ELECTROLYTE BATTERY

PURPOSE:To produce an organic electrolyte battery which has good liquid leakage resistance and can be easily made small and thin by using an insulating gasket formed by a network polyolefin prepared by subjecting chain macromolecular compounds to cross-linkage. CONSTITUTION:An insulating gasket 14 is made of a polypropylene having a network structure which is prepared by subjecting chain macromolecular compounds to cross-linkage. The cross-linkage is performed by an electron ray method, a chemical method or similar method. The insulating gasket 14 undergoes minimal plastic deformation during sealing of an organic electrolyte battery and therefore its sealing performance is improved. Even in a small thin battery, it is possible to prevent the insulating gasket 14 from protruding above the sealing plate. Additionally, the insulating gasket 14 has various stable physical properties at usual atmospheric temperatures.
