In order to preclude the influence of the driving movement on the aiming process, the arrangement has the following features: the cannon (1) is supported such that, as far as possible, it is free of bearing forces at its centre of gravity. A high-speed rotating motor (9) is arranged on the gun carriage, and at least one slipping clutch is provided between the motor (9) and the cannon (1), which slipping clutch is constantly slipping and, in the high rotation speed range which is used, transmits a torque which is independent of the rotation speed. An additional force-fitting clutch, (3), which can be engaged and disengaged, is arranged between the cannon (1) and the motor (9) or an additional motor for rapid tracking and aiming movements (coarse aiming). <IMAGE>
