PURPOSE:To simply change projection height from each bending part of an outer metal jacket to a positive terminal and a negative terminal by placing insulating rings having different thickness on the upper and lower parts of a unit cell, and sealing the unit cell. CONSTITUTION:A unit cell equipped with a positive terminal 2 and a negative terminal 3 is covered with an insulating resin tube 10. Insulating rings 11 and 12 are placed on the upper part and the lower part of the unit cell and the unit cell is inserted into an outer metal jacket 1. One end of the outer jacket 1 is previously bent so as to have a U-shaped cross section, and after inserting the unit cell, the other end of the outer jacket is bent inward to form a cylindrical alkaline battery. By changing the thickness of insulating rings 11 and 12, the location of the outer jacket 1 against the unit cell can be changed. By setting the sum of thickness of rings 11 and 12 constant, shoulder height of a battery can be kept constant. |
