Method and device for removing a loose-fitting rivet from the rivet hole

Sharp teeth are arranged in the form of a ring as adhesive means (2) on one end of a tubular drill guide (1). The drill guide (1) is inserted through a hole of a handle (3) and is clamped there by means of a screw (4). The adhesive means (2) or the sharp teeth are pressed onto the rivet head (5) by hand via the drill guide (1) and the handle (3), so that the rivet cannot co-rotate during the drilling. The drill (6) is then guided through the drill guide (1) up against the centre of the rivet head, and a hole reaching as far as the rivet shank is drilled in the rivet head (5). The rivet shank can then be pushed out of the rivet hole. A new rivet, expediently a pop blind rivet or Chobert blind rivet, is then fitted in the rivet hole which has remained undamaged. <IMAGE>
