A slab formwork element comprises at least two ledgers (4), transverse beams or joists (5, 5', 5'') and at least one formwork panel (3) resting on the transverse beams or joists (5, 5', 5''), which themselves rest on the ledgers (4). For such a formwork element, the device (V2) comprises four bracing arms (6, 7, 8, 9) arranged in pairs. A first pair (6, 7) of two arms is arranged in a V shape and is intended to brace the ledger (4). A second pair (8, 9) of two arms is arranged in a V shape in a plane perpendicular to that of the first pair; the arms of the second pair are longer than those of the first pair and are intended to brace one of the joists or one beam (5, 5', 5'') supporting the formwork panel (3). A central component (10) fixedly connects the lower ends of the four bracing arms (6, 7, 8, 9) together and comprises at least one clamp (12), intended to clasp the prop (2) which is placed in the common axis of symmetry of the two pairs of arms and extends up to the ledger (4) in order to support it. <IMAGE>
