PURPOSE:To make it possible to impart good quality printing even to a recording medium poor in surface smoothness while keeping various thermal transfer capacities, by making the heat applying quantity to the dots of the outermost edge part contacted with the non-heating dot groups of dot groups constituting a heating pattern larger than that to other dots. CONSTITUTION:The heat applying quantity to the dots of the outermost edge part contacted with non-heating dot groups of dot groups constituting a heating pattern is made larger than that to other dots. Concretely, with respect to an indivisual dot having to receive the application heat, it is discriminated whether adjacent up and down as well as left and right dots are under an ON-state and, only when all of these dots are ON, the pulse width of heat application is reduced. In place of the pulse width, it is also possible to control applied voltage. When the application of heat is continuously performed, because the heat accumulation phenomenon of a head is generated, heat pulse correction is desirably performed compositely. |
