PURPOSE:To carry out a smooth cutting fabrication, by providing such an arrangement that a tool-exchange is rapidly carried out, and a tool which is set on a chain member and is on stand-by is positively separated from a workpiece to prevent interference therebetween. CONSTITUTION:A machine tool 10 is arranged such that a spindle head 14 which rotatably supports a spindle provided at its one end with a tool loading section 16, may be reciprocatably elevated to a column 20 to carry out a predetermined fabrication for a workpiece 24 set on a table 22. Further, there is provided an AC servomotor 40 incorporating a rotary encoder 38. Then, a magazine bed 12 wherein tool holders 48 are attached to several chains 48, is supported, slidably in the vertical direction along the axis of the spindle. Further, the lower end parts of a pair of limiting pieces 68, 68 secured to a support piece 66 are skirted downward on the left and right sides. With this arrangement, a smooth cutting fabrication may be carried out. |
