The subject of the invention is a device for fastening a tool (23) in portable angle grinders, which device allows the fastening to be released without an auxiliary tool. The device essentially comprises a hollow drive shaft (16), a spindle (20) mounted displaceably therein, a displacement device (6) and a fixing point which is formed from the counterflange (22) and a bolt (56), provided with a flange (57), and a sleeve (54) provided with a flange (53). In order to release the bolt (56), the spindle (20) is displaced in the direction of the fixing point by actuating the displacement device (6), with the result that the flange (57), connected to the spindle (20), of the bolt (56) is removed from the tool (23) and from the flange (53) of the sleeve (54). The nut (21) can then be unscrewed by turning by hand. <IMAGE>
